"Kuruthayat" project, which was initiated during the 6th National Economic and Social Development Plan to solve the problem of teacher shortage in Thailand, has now developed into "Teacher Production Project for Local Development", giving opportunities to various groups to participate and to be hired as teachers in areas close to home.
The "Guru Heirs" project was initiated during the Sixth National Economic and Social Development Plan (1987–1991) with the goal of selecting students with good academic performance and a positive attitude towards the teaching profession to study in teacher training institutions.
